Quite often when you go abroad, you meet a range of very exotic plants. Even if you go to a botanical garden, the scientific names would not help you much if they are too exotic. At Dokmai Garden we explain more about the monsoon plants on aluminium signs, but that is very rare in other botanical gardens. A solution is Mabberley’s Plant-book! It contains all genera and families of flowering plants and ferns in the world. It is printed on thin paper like in a bible, and the format is handy, why the devoted gardener can carry it with a smile. In Chiang Mai you can only find this book at Dokmai Garden, but it is possible to buy it in Bangkok or at university bookstores abroad.
