Plants in our sales nursery – Barleria lupulina

July 6, 2010

Barleria lupulina (Acanthaceae) makes a nice bush characterised by dark green leaves with cute pinkish midveins. The light yellow flowers emerge from cigar-like panicles. It is most suitable for the busy man’s garden. It is drought tolerant, and resists insect attacks. Although native to Madagascar, it grows nicely in the Chiang Mai gardens.
