June 5, 2011
Sticky rice, ‘kao niao’, is a name for rice varieties which turn sticky after steaming. Sticky rice is very popular in Thailand since you can eat it with your hand and dip into other dishes. One Thai ingredient is ‘kao koa’. It means that dry sticky rice grains have been dry fried and pound into a powder using a mortar. This brings a special flavour to your dish, such as this one!
